Five girls, brought together as if by destiny, have taken their place at a new starting line under the name ARTMS. Kim Lip, JinSoul, and Choerry successfully reactivated ODD EYE CIRCLE with a new album and a completed North American and European tour. HeeJin showcased the beauty of Korea through her solo album, while HaSeul wrapped up a four-day solo concert in Seoul with great success, demonstrating her growth as a performance-oriented idol. With their warm-up complete, ARTMS has now released their very first full-length album, capturing the paradox of blessings and cruelties in love and life.

The intro track “url” serves as a ritual leading into the title song “Virtual Angel”—just as a URL is the gateway we must pass through to go anywhere online. Opening with Kim Lip’s narration and flowing into an energetic rhythm, the track encapsulates the dynamic spirit of the album.

The title track “Virtual Angel” was crafted by EL CAPITXN and Vendors—producers behind tripleS songs like “Generation” and “Girls Never Die.” Built on a Y2K-inspired Eurodance foundation with sacred vibes reminiscent of a cathedral, the track presents a fresh kind of dance music unlike anything heard before. In an era where AI and virtual existences are becoming reality, the song poses the question: Have idols—consumed through TV and smartphones—always been “virtual” to us? While love and affection toward idols may not be seen as “real romance” by outsiders, isn’t the bond between idols and fans a form of genuine love? ARTMS sings of emotions that transcend the screen, insisting they are no less real.

Longtime collaborators Digipedi, who helped build LOONA’s universe, directed the music video, visualizing ARTMS’s story with their fans.

“Sparkle” expresses the sparks of dazzling emotions through music. Just as love is often compared to fireworks, how many bursts of fireworks can our love create? The members of ARTMS etch this excitement into their voices.

“The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” was originally reserved as the title track for ARTMS’s next album but was included here to elevate the quality of their debut full-length album. Produced by G-high, who created LOONA’s iconic “Butterfly,” the track carries beats that can resonate with both longtime fans and newcomers alike.

Pre-released songs from “Flower Rhythm” to “Candy Crush” and “Air” were all completed by sampling prior solo and unit tracks—HeeJin’s “개화 (Bloom)” and “Algorithm,” HaSeul’s “Plastic Candy,” and ODD EYE CIRCLE’s “Air Force One.” Together, they show how each member’s journey has converged into the team ARTMS.

“Unf/Air,” following “Air,” deals with the asymmetry of love. “I love you, but why don’t you look at me?” It portrays this unfairness with a lighthearted and endearing touch.

“Distress” placed second in ARTMS’s pre-release voting but was actually the first track recorded for the album, showcasing its polished quality. From the very first studio playback, it was clear this song defined ARTMS’s style.

“Butterfly Effect” tells the story of how the wings of LOONA’s “Butterfly” evolved into ARTMS. With a genre and sound so unique it could be called a sequel to “Butterfly,” the track inherits LOONA’s musical legacy while taking flight with ARTMS’s own wings.

The final track, “Birth,” won overwhelming support from fans during ARTMS’s pre-release “Gravity” voting and now stands as proof of the group’s existence. Its already-released music video has been hailed as one of the most brutal yet beautiful in K-pop history, encapsulating the aesthetics of ARTMS. Even before the album’s release, ARTMS announced their global “Moonshot” tour, marking the beginning of their long journey ahead. The future of ARTMS starts here, right now.
